Kristen Anne Bell is an American singer and actress born in 1980. She is an Michigan native, born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her ancestry is Polish (mother) as well as German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen discovered her talents in the world of entertainment at a young age. In 1992, she went to her very first audition. She was given a part on Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell's mother signed her up at an agency prior to when turning 13 years old. She then appeared in television advertisements and newspaper ads. Bell also began taking acting lessons in private at the age of 13. Bell was credited as a character in the movie Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School and was a member of the music club as well as the drama club. She was the star as Dorothy in her high school's production of The Wizard of Oz. Bell was accepted to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts for a musical theater course upon graduating. Bell left her studies in 2001, and began playing Becky the character of Tom Sawyer. In 2001, she made her debut on the credit screen playing the character of Becky Pootie Tang. The film was cut, however, her scene was cut out of the movie and she was not even in the credits. Bell appeared part of the Broadway revival of The Crucible starring Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
